I hate...
Last-minute interviews.

I didn't like being phoned at 8:00 AM for an interview at 8:30 AM - even if it GOT me the job.

I don't like being phoned at 4:20 and asked to arrive for an interview at 5:00. However, fortunately, my hair does not take hours to prepare (Comb, comb, pull back, ponytail holder!) and I keep my clothes relatively handy.

I think I did okay... certainly, they're asking me back for a second interview to meet one of the people I'd potentially be working with sometime next week... but I'm still hoping that the application I've put in for a job at the local university's library will have some results. I'm not sure if Customer Service Representative/Jack of All Trades is particularly what I want to do. Even if some sadistic part of me LIKES being the bearer of bad news *chuckle*

But in both applications' cases, I'd be going full-time again. I don't want to have to do that, but if I want to make more money than my job+incapacity benefit pays... particularly if I want to expand my gecko colony to include a couple of high-end morphs like the blazing blizzard ... *sigh* it's always a damned if you do, damned if you don't, isn't it?

They are indeed... red-eyed white is a very recent addition to the morphs of leopard gecko available. That said, I'm quite partial to Alya, my patternless-morph male. Bright lemon yellow when he's in good colour, with a grey-white tail and one 'paradox' spot of black pigment on his tail (a patternless shouldn't have ANY black pigment!) which might be genetic. If so, it'd be interesting to see if I could breed red-eyed white geckos that have black paradox spots... like little dalmatians!

Good luck with your interviews.

I know what you mean about the money vs. hours vs. things you want to buy.

Much of the luck with the job interviews- that is part of the reason I am not rushing off to look for antoerh job. I had job interviews. Well hopefully you will get something you like.

Go with the Geckos!

Tired, more than anything.

Got something to go to on Monday immediately after my Cognitive Therapy class, too - something somewhere between being an interview and a finalised job offer from what I understand. Not going to say too much at this point, though, because I don't know where exactly it's going to go, if anywhere.

On the other hand, I'll be getting three new babies next Friday (most likely) - a male/female pair of het-for-blazing-blizzard (Male blizzard carrying the albino gene, female albino carrying the blizzard gene) and a female normal - from Ray Hine. Here's to hoping the weather eases down a little bit so that my babies won't have trouble in the heat and humidity.

Congrats on the new lizards. Won't be terribly long till you have your own set of Blazing Blizzards?

And good luck on Monday, as well.

We went to the bank on Thursday and Jev got a debt consolidation loan. Stress has eased up a bit, and this loan will make it easier for us to put some cash into savings. We may be able to move in the not terribly distant future, and his mother has offered us to stay at their house in Wales if we choose to move down there.

It'll probably be close to a year before I get even one clutch out of them - the babies just started hatching mid-May, and my pair are young enough that Ray is going to have to go by 'best guess' and pocket microscope to verify sex. But I'm looking forward to having new babies, and maybe we'll be lucky enough that one of the two eggs I'm incubating will hatch about the same time.

*smile* Thanks - I need the luck I can get.

Consolidation loans aren't too bad as long as you don't dig the hole deeper - trust me, that's a -bad- idea. We know. I'm glad, though, that you've got the possibility of staying with your inlaws if you need it - it does help a little when you know you've got somewhere to stay while you look for somewhere more permanent to stay.
